Phlebotomy, Suturing, and Youth Camp

Goodness, its been a long time since I wrote! I'm even rusty on my typing! ~smile~

A lot has been going on. Our dance, which we performed last week, was a success. But it was a success in a way we didn't expect. Let's just say that God showed us we don't have to be perfect to minister to other people.

This past week, my brother and I attended Freeman Health Academy. We learned CPR, basic First Aid, basic phlebotomy (taking blood), and suturing (giving stitches). We got to "scrub in" like doctors do before surgery, went through a triage simulation (determining which patients are in need of immediate medical attention in the case of a disaster), and an ER simulation. I really enjoyed the ER simulation and CPR training. I can now help save lives. It's a pretty neat thought.

This week is full of cleaning and preparing for my great grandma Mamie who's coming to visit along with our cousins. My great grandma is 91 and still kickin'! She went bowling just last week. My mom is really excited!

Hillsong Church in New York is coming this week to do an event called the Hope Conference at our church.  We're going to be helping with that. I'm excited!!

Then, next week is youth camp. I'm excited.  I'm not exactly sure what to expect, but I'm going expecting to encounter God. Again, I'm sooo excited! It's going to be great!

So, since I'm going to be so busy, I probably won't write for a couple of weeks. God bless you all and be with you!

  Emily
